About The Sky’s the Limit: The Notorious B.I.G NFT Collection
The Sky’s the Limit: The Notorious B.I.G NFT collection features unique 3D NFT characters inspired by Biggie. Each NFT holder will also hold the collective license to the Notorious B.I.G’s legendary street corner freestyle. Despite its legendary status, the freestyle has never officially been released.
In addition to owning two super-cool collectibles, NFT holders will become part of the web3 Biggie collective Sky’s The Limit. What’s more, musicians can license Biggie’s iconic freestyle and include it in their own recordings. The artists can then release them on music streaming services and credit Biggie in the song title.
The cultural importance of Biggie and this NFT collection
“Biggie’s music is a very important part of hip-hop culture and its global impact,” said Wayne Barrow, Manager of Voletta Wallace/the Notorious B.I.G ’s estate. “Our business partner, Elliot Osagie of Willingie Inc, came up with the concept of coming together with OneOf to share the infamous freestyle that showcased to the world the icon that Biggie would soon become through an NFT; and sharing it with his fans in this way we are certain would make him proud.”
According to OneOf co-founder Joshua James, the collection’s title – “Sky’s The Limit” – has a meaning. The name refers to Biggie’s legendary status; and because “seminal artists like Biggie and their truest fans can drive culture and drive value together.”
Notorious B.I.G fans can sign up to the allow list from today. The collection will be available for purchase on July 26 and is the latest high-profile partnership for OneOf. Recently, OneOf partnered with the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival to deliver environmentally sustainable NFTs to fans.
